Mental Health Services in Clinton, Iowa

Our mental health therapists based in Clinton, Iowa offer support and techniques for coping  with and managing anxiety, relationship issues, depression, trauma, mood and thought disorders, ADHD, and a wide range of other mental health concerns. In addition to in-office therapy, Life Connections offers in-home Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS). Our BHIS providers provide services in the comfort of your own home and in approved school locations. Your child and family will participate in a combination of skill-building programs which target behavioral issues using evidence-based practices based on individualized treatment plan goals. Our BHIS professionals address behavioral issues and improve communication, anger management, coping, and decision making through skill-building. Children must be covered by Iowa State/Medicaid Insurance to be eligible for BHIS services.

 

Mental Health Waiver Services- Family and Community Support (FCS) Services and In-Home Family Therapy

Family and Community Service Providers are trained professionals on staff here at Life Connections who are making a difference in the community with their clients! FCS services provide the unique opportunity for clients to be present and interact with their communities in order to develop social skills and participate in skill-building in the moment with their provider outside of the home. Life Connections services the Iowa Mental Health Waiver with FCS services as well as in-home family therapy with trained, licensed mental health professionals.

 

School-Based Mental Health Therapy Services

Life Connections also offers mental health therapy services for school districts. We are able to provide a contracted full or part time therapist stationed in your district to work with students during school hours. Our school-based therapists can meet with children during school hours to support and facilitate collaborative mental health services with your local school district.

 

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Services

Applied Behavior Analysis services are available through Life Connections for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In ABA services with Life Connections, your child’s services will be tailored to their individual needs and learning styles for the best fit! Our ABA professionals are trained and certified to provide ABA services as BCBAs (Board Certified Behavior Analysts) and RBTs (Registered Behavior Technicians). ABA is an evidence-based treatment service designed to help children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder to learn, increase communication skills, improve attention and focus, improve social skills, improve academics, and decrease problem behaviors.

BHIS Manager

Renée Snyder M.A.


View BioRenée’s career with Life Connections began in February of 2016. She is the Behavioral Health Manager as well as a Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) counselor. Renée graduated from Ashford University in Clinton with her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology, and then went on to obtain her master’s degree in counseling psychology from Capella University. While studying, she spent time researching how exercise therapy can be helpful in patients with depression and anxiety as a replacement for medication. Renée has been working in the mental health field since 2006, and has gained experience in several areas including substance abuse, assisting individuals with intellectual disabilities, and working with displaced children and families. She also has significant training and experience working with men, women, and children who survived sexual assault and/or domestic violence.


Therapy Manager

Erin Aude LMHC


View BioErin began her career at Life Connections in February of 2018. She is a therapist and the Therapy Manager in the Clinton office. Erin is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and has experience working with clients of all ages, but specializes in children ages 3-12. Erin has been working in the mental health field since 2006. Erin earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology in 2008 and earned her Master of Science in education counseling in 2015. She completed her internship at Robert Young Center and worked there for two years before joining Life Connections. Erin has completed several trainings throughout her career, including Bridges out of Poverty, Mental Health First Aid, and Trauma Informed Care. Erin is also a registered facilitator for the Circle of Security Parenting Program. Erin enjoys working with children and has experience with treating mood disorders, anxiety, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. She also has a special interest in treating childhood trauma and healing its negative impact on bonding and attachment. Erin primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, play techniques, and Attachment Theory in her practice.
