Dana Scott, Iowa mental health therapist

Dana  has been working at Life Connections since August of 2023. Dana is a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW). Dana offers in-office and telehealth mental health therapy services, assessments for Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS), and provides school-based therapy services at Life Connections. Dana is able to provide individual and family based therapy services as well.

Dana graduated from Ashford  University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Dana received her Master of Social Work degree at The University of Iowa in 2022 While attending college, Dana worked for Family Resources as a Domestic Violence Advocate, and interned as a Sexual Assault therapist. Dana has also worked in  community mental health, non profits, and in hospital social work. 

Dana specializes in treating ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, adjustment related stressors,  and trauma. Dana works with all ages ranging from as young as 4 years old to the elderly. She utilizes Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Jungian Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness techniques, and takes a strengths-based and a person-centered approach.  In her practice, clients find a welcoming, non-judgmental, and safe environment where they can delve into their thoughts and emotions. Dana is committed to guiding clients on their journey towards self-awareness and well-being. Dana firmly believes that the true power of therapy lies in collaboration. She is dedicated to working hand in hand with her clients to create a brighter, more fulfilling future.
