About Joe Kadavy
Joe Kadavy serves as a Mental Health Therapist with Life Connections, providing diagnostic assessments and therapy services for children, adolescents, and adults through both in-person and telehealth appointments. Joe joined Life Connections in 2025 as a mental health therapist intern and transitioned into his current role after earning his Master of Social Work degree from the University of Iowa.
Joe works with individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, ADHD, substance use concerns, self-esteem issues, anger, suicidal ideation, and major life transitions. He utilizes a person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach to help clients build on their strengths and work toward meaningful change.
Trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy, Joe believes each client is the expert on their own life. He is committed to creating a safe, collaborative environment where individuals feel heard, supported, and empowered to achieve their goals.
Passionate about mental health advocacy, Joe believes everyone can benefit from therapy and is dedicated to helping reduce the stigma surrounding mental health care. He finds the greatest meaning in building genuine connections with clients and providing a comfortable space where they can openly share their experiences.
Originally from Bettendorf, Iowa, Joe enjoys staying active, spending time with his puppy, hiking, fishing, and exploring new parks and restaurants. A nature enthusiast, he has a personal goal of visiting every national park in the United States.
